BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN……

After 4 days resting my feet and taking the bus from town, yesterday I was back on the road again !!! Thanks to the great Willie Nelson that lamented with me We ‘ can’t wait to get back on the road again…La la la la’.
Each day I rested, my feet were grateful but my body was itching for the physical act of walking. In total, I missed 76 kms of walking but it was worth it to let my body heal and for the new friends I met of the various buses I took!
The most significant would be the professor who is now 80 and on her 21 st full Camino. She books it all herself. This time she is walking it to as she say goodbye to the trail that has been her familiar friend and intimated partner to her outdoor spirit.
She is incredible. I tried to convince her she has a second occupation waiting for her -advising people like me on where to stay and what to look out for on the Way. Of course I would be her partner hahaha but she is of course continuing on to do other amazing things like volunteer her time to read with young kids.
She is from Spain and has walked her country from end to end, had an amazing career as a Librarian and has bought children across the country more books than stars in the sky- I may be exaggerating there because she inspires me and reminds me how many great women have come before me. I think her words were “I have bought millions of books for kids all across the country Brooke and will continue to do so” . For me that equates to more books that stars in the sky.
Kudos to you Professora may you continue to be amazing, inspiring and a wonderful inspirations to kids that they can do anything. Continue showing them the pleasure and creativity in reading books. Letting people travel their own way but gently guiding them to the greater sights and sounds of each town!
Buen Camino Professora - I hope your brilliance never extinguishes and you burn bright in al the children you have inspired.
I woke up excited today that I was finally going to get to walk in the rain and test out my wet weather gear but only got a short down pour and was dry again in half an hour I guess the wet weather gear worked!

I met friends today from Japan and we formed a strong bond. Enough to invite our families to each other homes- again this is the magic of the Camino. Meeting people you form a shared experience with and wanting to keep the connection forever with some, fleetingly with others but each important in their own ways.

I am writing to you from Belorado where first impressions are its the city of amazing murals

There are some clearly talented people here and these photos don’t do it justice!

Stork nests are everywhere but actually on top of the churches , near the church bells and I am never tired of seeing their magnificent nexts or the clucking noise they make as the land to feed their young

Santa Domingo was one of the most vibrate places of colour from art to architecture the celebratory traditional dress of the Spanish kids. It was Labour Day in Spain on Friday a special day for me to be celebrating. Here are some snaps from Santa Domingo which i found to be such an inspiring little town with the most amazing colours.

I have already walked 19 or so kms what’s another 165 steps ….worth it for the views

According to google I am 225kms into a walk of 731km - the 76kms I didn’t walk but experienced through a different perspective.I am feeling both like I am running out of time and it’s going too fast, yet also wondering is there is such a thing as too much nourishment.
It still feels surreal that I am here, that I am doing this - I want to hold onto that for as long as possible.
There has been so much beauty nourishment through art culture and history and amazing people. Sometimes I think my soul is overwhelmed with all the goodness. Its hard to take it all in before the next beautiful nourishing moment comes along. Is there such as thing as too much nourishment…
As my Mama from Chilpancingo told me today - what an enriching experince. There are no other words.
Buen Camino
Brooke
